Alignment Solution Through Invisalign Template

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an innovative orthodontic therapy that realigns teeth without wires. Invisalign uses a series of transparent and removable polymer aligners, built on the patient’s dental impression, which hug the teeth like a glove. Each aligner gradually moves the teeth to be realigned.

What are the primary benefits of Invisalign?

  1. Invisalign aligners are practically invisible once worn and therefore nobody will know that you are wearing them.
  2. The Invisalign aligners are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want, as well as brush your teeth appropriately to maintain adequate oral hygiene (made difficult instead with fixed wires).
  3. Invisalign aligners are comfortable, without wires or fixed attachments, there are no problems of irritation inside the mouth. Invisalign treatment allows the patient to see their teeth move gradually and then evaluate the final result before starting therapy.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses a three-dimensional computerized technology that allows you to progressively view the complete treatment plan from the initial position of the teeth to the final one. Each aligner moves the teeth progressively over a period of about two weeks, after which it will be replaced with the next one until the teeth reach the desired final position.

What do Invisalign aligners look like?

The aligners are invisible and look a lot like the shells used for teeth whitening. They are customized for each patient (built specifically on the basis of the teeth of each individual). Some orthodontists have called them “contact lenses for teeth”.

What are Invisalign templates made of?

The aligners are constructed with a transparent polymer, widely used in dentistry which is resistant and practically imperceptible once worn.

Is Invisalign a new way to realign your teeth?

How long has the company existed?

Invisalign is produced by Align Technology, an American multinational present on the market since 1997.

How long has this technique existed?

In 1945 an American orthodontist, Dr. HD Kesling, had hypothesized that one day modern technology would allow the use of a series of dental positioners to reproduce the movements necessary for orthodontic treatment. Align Technology has made this hypothesis real. Through a highly advanced three-dimensional computerized technology, Align produces a series of custom-made aligners. Each aligner is worn sequentially by the patient to produce dental movements.

How does Invisalign actually move the teeth?

Like fixed or mobile metal appliances, Invisalign aligners move teeth with a controlled force on the teeth. The main difference is that Invisalign is not controlling this force, but it also controls the duration of the application. At each stage, only some specific teeth are moved and these movements are determined by the orthodontic treatment provided for that specific phase. The result is an effective force distribution system.

How to start the Invisalign treatment?

Is simple. Just make an appointment with a certified doctor in the Invisalign system for a preliminary visit. Consult Certified Physicians on the Invisalign site to find the nearest certified doctor.

What is the minimum age the patient must have to be treated with Invisalign?

Although its traditional field of use is in adult dental misalignments, since March 2009, it is also possible to treat adolescents between 11 and 18, thanks to the new product of Align Technology Inc, Invisalign teen, specially dedicated to this age group.

Is the Invisalign treatment painful?

During the first few days of adaptation of the aligner, it is possible to feel a certain sensitivity to the teeth, typically described as a slight sensation of pressure. This is absolutely normal and indicates that the aligner is working to bring the teeth to their final position. This feeling generally disappears after a few days.

Do I need to change my eating habits?

Unlike traditional orthodontic treatment, the aligners must be removed during meals. You can therefore eat and drink anything you want. However, it is important to always wash your teeth before reinserting the aligner.

How is it recommended to clean Invisalign aligner?

The best way is to use a toothbrush, warm water and toothpaste or neutral soap. Rinse well.

For how many hours do I have to bring the Invisalign device during the day?

It is good to remember that to be able to act correctly, the device must be worn day and night except for eating and brushing teeth. Not wearing them correctly for the recommended time may compromise or delay the final result of the treatment.

Can I whiten my teeth while I wear the Invisalign appliance?

Some patients do it. However we have no clinical evidence on the compatibility of the Invisalign device material with the substances currently used for teeth whitening. It is advisable to consult the orthodontist for more information on teeth whitening.

How often should I go to the doctor for check-ups?

The orthodontist will fix the calendar of appointments according to the case. Usually once every 3-6 weeks. However, compared to traditional orthodontic therapy, the duration of the check will be considerably reduced.

Is it possible that after the end of the treatment, my teeth will move to return to the initial position?

Your teeth can move at any time in life, regardless of whether or not they have undergone orthodontic treatment. After orthodontic therapy, a “restraint” device is often applied (= aligner similar to Invisalign) which is worn at night to maintain and stabilize the teeth in the acquired position. It is advisable to consult the orthodontist.
